To start with I’ll bring the business and technology leaders together, and facilitate a relationship that leads to greater understanding, and ongoing collaboration.

Business leaders will learn more about what technology can, and can’t do, and they’ll begin to appreciate the difficulties involved with scoping projects with inherent unknowns.

You’ll gain a better perspective of the business as a whole, and be able to shape solutions to deliver on outcomes, rather than just building what you’re asked for.

The end result is that technology will be more central to the business, enabling it to drive the business forward, as opposed to holding it back.


Ensure flexibility is built-in

While constraints are there in off-the-shelf software, you can work around to a certain extent, however in software we develop together, we’ll make it as simple as possible.

Reducing the cognitive complexity of the world we’re working in is a clear trick to reducing overall complexity, which makes it easier to be adapted or fixed in the future.

This leaves us open to take advantage of other technologies that come along, such as AI, and allows us to explore the full potential of technology.

The key, now, is embedding that simplicity into the business, and the technology, without distracting from all the core basics we need for the business to succeed.


Develop your team from the inside out

I’ll work with you to frame out the considerations, and resource your team according to the project requirements and outcomes to be achieved. Then, as a ‘hands-on’ technical expert with a wide range of software engineering experience, I’ll work in conjunction with you and your team to deliver the software.

As you’re well aware, the value of software engineering is not having working software at any one point. It’s in the ability to change and grow that solution over time. And so, throughout the process I’ll build your teams capacity, ensuring they can update and adapt the software in the future.
